Snows Begin Stateside Ministry

The Snows are back in the States and in full swing now. Time for a shift in ministry. It has taken us several days to transition from our ministry in Japan to our stateside ministry, but we have been looking forward to this for some time now.

Last week we “kicked-off” our year of stateside ministry with Georgia Teen Camp. Wow, what a blessing. Approximately 230 campers assembled just outside of Macon, GA for a great week of camp. We even had a group of “foreign” teens come over to join us from Mississippi.

Mark Walker, camp director, allowed us time to share what God is doing in Japan with the campers during one of the morning sessions, as well as challenge them to be open to serving God throughout the world. God really did bless during these days. Not only were many life-changing decisions made, but several inquired about how they might become involved in helping to reach teens in Japan.

In June, following teen camp, we are going to be visiting churches in Kentucky until the FWB National Convention in Little Rock, AR, then from there to some supporting churches in Tennessee and North Carolina. From September we will be in Georgia. Please pray for our family as we travel.

On a different note, we are hearing some really exciting things from our “home” in Japan. Our ministry team there is keeping us up to date on some of this summer’s outreach programs. Please pray for these events. They include:

A citywide service on July 9th at the Ebetsu Civic Center, a hall that seats just over 1,000. The “evangelist,” Trey Hillman, is the Christian manager of the Nippon Fighters, our Hokkaido’s pro baseball team. He led the team to win the Japan Series last year, and feels that God has called him to Japan to share the gospel to the 99.5% of Japanese who do not know Christ. Please be much in prayer for this event. We just learned that the city of Ebetsu has decided to underwrite the majority of the costs of this event, and “co-sponsor” it with us. Praise the Lord! God is doing some amazing things in our city. To God be the Glory.

E-Team. Our annual E-Team arrives and ministers in June. Pray that the new ground they are able to break will be fertile soil. Pray for the missionaries and nationals as they follow up on these new contacts over the next several weeks and months.

Bob and Sue MacGill. This is a couple who have decided to take their post-retirement productivity overseas. The MacGills have volunteered to come to Hokkaido and help us catch up on some hands on projects. We so appreciate their willingness to minister in this fashion and trusting the Lord will bless them richly for it.

If you are interested in how you might become more involved in church planting in Japan, please get in touch with us. Visit our FWBIM website at fwbgo.com and follow the links to individual missionaries for on-the-go updates. We also want to encourage you to visit our Japan website (in English) at jfwbm.com. Tim Crowson, our own on-site short-term media specialist has developed this site. Tim has also added some short videos that can be watched online through this website. Please feel free to use this to share with others what God is doing through Free Will Baptists in Japan.

Thanks to each of you who uphold us in prayer. We are looking forward to seeing you as we can.
