Transitions, Transitions...

Missionaries are coming and going again. Some are returning, some are leaving, others are moving around...
This Spring and Summer will be significant in terms of personnel changes!

Nathan and Linda Snow returned after a year of stateside assignment. They are currently in Ebetsu looking for housing, but just as busy as always! We welcome them back to Japan! Praise the Lord that they were not delayed in their return.

Shirley Williams has returned to the states after working for two years teaching English in the Tokyo area churches. Shirley continued the English track that previous short-term workers had followed, and blessed everyone around her through her fervent love for the Lord and for the Japanese people. We will miss you, Shirley!

Tim and Katrina Crowson are finishing up their two-year assignment and will spend the final two months of it in Hokkaido. But first they have to vacate their housing in Tokyo. They'll basically be undergoing two "moves" very quickly, first to Hokkaido and then to the States.

Donnie and Ruth McDonald are scheduled to begin stateside assignment in June. They'll be making a hurried transition to the States for a year's stay there.

Debbie Griffin will also be returning to the States this summer for regular stateside assignment.

Please note that the McDonalds, Shirley Williams, and the Crowsons are all from the Good News Chapel team. This means that no missionaries would be left to work there! Because of this, Dale and Sandra Bishop have agreed to relocate to Tokyo for one year to manage Good News Chapel while the McDonalds are in the U.S. Dale is the Regional Director for Asia and although he and Sandra have been here for over 30 years, they've not worked much in Tokyo. It is a blessing that they are able to come and take over the Good News Chapel work! Praise God!

Be in prayer for all these people as they shuffle their lives around. That's a lot of adjusting to do! Be especially in prayer for the Japanese church members who are affected by these moves. The Good News Chapel group, for example, will be seeing a drop in numbers (so many missionaries gone) but will also be getting brand new faces (the Bishops). Pray that this will be a time of encouragement and growth for all our members! It would be so easy for such changes to work for ill. Pray that the Lord will use it for good!
