Summer Gospel Music Workshop at Good News Chapel
Tuesday, June 12, 2007
Ruth continues directing the Gospel Music
Workshop outreach at Good News Chapel in Tokyo
this summer. The three month outreach ministry
has one more practice session, June 23, before
combining with more than 20 other regional
Gospel Music Choirs for the final mass Gospel
Choir concert on June 30. Our daughter Katie,
back in Tokyo for summer break from college,
was able to share a testimony with the choir
members at the practice session this past week.
Katie, younger sister Amy, and Ruth sang a
Gospel song that night as a further testimony
for the participants. Each practice session
includes either a devotional or testimony on
some aspect of the Gospel. Through the three
month course, every particpant gets an
opportunity to hear the Gospel story, sing
Black Gospel songs, interact with local
believers, carry home Christian literature, and
experience a mass Gospel choir of over 200.
For the final practice session on June 23rd, the 2007 Tokyo E-team will attend and participate with the Good News Workshop choir, share in Gospel songs, fellowship with the choir members, and enjoy a Japanese potluck meal. Some of the workshop members are hosting E-team members with homestays, creating further opportunities for Gospel impact.
